The Vrijthof in Hilvarenbeek, surrounded by trees and terraces, is the bustling heart of the village. With its many cozy cafés and restaurants, it provides a lovely resting point for walkers and cyclists. In the middle of The Vrijthof stands a kiosk from 1925, right next to the distinctive 'Gebodenlinde'; an imposing tree planted in 1676. For many years, judgments were made under this tree. The Vrijthof is atmospheric and lively and was justly praised by columnist Martin Bril as the most beautiful village center in the Netherlands!
Hilvarenbeek is a true gastronomic municipality. Delicious local beers are brewed here, and you will also find a number of vineyards where grapes are grown for fine wines.
