Adventon Motor Museum

Our next destination is Middelbeers, about a three-quarter hour drive away. The surroundings here are greener and more wooded. Hidden among the trees is the Adventon Motorcycle Museum, a place where you can admire classic European motorcycles. Once Ad Vennix opens the gates, our eyes are drawn to a gigantic motorcycle, ingeniously built as a welcoming sight. Even here, it is impossible to speak of a museum in the traditional sense. On the premises, there are several sheds, and as Ad opens door after door, we are amazed one after another. Ad's museum houses around one hundred and fifty motorcycles. The model years span from 1920 to 1965. Ad began his collection in 1958, mainly for practical reasons. During those years, the motorcycle was his only mode of transportation. He often bought another motorcycle, from Adler to Zundapp. Ad worked as a mechanic for motor vehicles and machines, so he had the know-how to tinker with machines. His collection is entirely focused on European brands, with some exceptional specimens: TWN, Tornax, Victoria, Simplex, Adler, DKW. Their condition is somewhere in between showroom condition and 'barn finds'. Technically, they are all in order, while most proudly show their signs of use visually. The museum houses a colorful collection of motorcycles in an unparalleled no-nonsense style. Together with his son, Ad guides us from one treasure room to another. Without hesitation, a 1930 DKW is driven outside, starting effortlessly on the first attempt. Ad proudly mentions that he still often takes this motorcycle out on the road. Anyone wanting to relive European motorcycle history should not pass by Adventon. The true enthusiast can easily spend a longer time wandering around here. You will also find a treasure trove of parts - for sale - alongside cabinets full of documentation.
