Castle Nijenborgh, known as Huis Op de Biest, is located in the municipality of Weert in Dutch Limburg. The castle is a ruin of the fortress built by Jacob I van Horne between 1455 and 1461. This fortress was the seat of the Lords of Weert, the later Counts of Horn, and consisted of a main castle and a, also 15th-century, outer bailey. The main castle was situated on a double moated site and had a rectangular ground plan of approximately 75x60 meters with a walled courtyard. At the corners were four towers, of which at the north and south corners were two large square towers with high spires and late Gothic architecture, featuring large windows, oriel towers, dormers, and a stair tower, as well as two smaller round towers at the other two corners. It had a large, very high residential wing with stepped gables, which was placed against one of the long sides, a gatehouse, and otherwise was closed by a castle wall.
