Another lovely place to wander around is Voedselbos De Haling. Once a meadow, it is now an idyllic little woodland filled with edible plants and trees. It was created by volunteers and students, and is maintained monthly by a group of enthusiasts. Walkers are free to explore, even off the paths, and are welcome to pick something for their own use or just to taste. For example, you’ll find various kinds of apples, pears, grapes, berries and herbs. But even in less fruitful seasons, it’s a pleasant place to pause and unwind. Dogs are not allowed in the food forest.
