In the vicinity of the Voorhaven, you can admire over 170 monuments. There is the Edam Museum from 1530 with the floating cellar and the "Edam Tower of Pisa." In the museum, there are photos of, among others, the Mayor of Edam Pieter Dirckz with a beard of 2.50 meters. The tallest woman in the village: Trijntje Kever, who measures 2.60 meters, can also be seen there. What about the heaviest man: innkeeper Jan Claesz with his 227.5 kilos, he can also be admired. If you want to stay longer in Edam, a visit to the cheese market combined with a boat tour on the Markermeer is a good tip.
