Via Paal -with its typical small tidal harbor- you cycle through Emmadorp, where behind the dike lies the "Drowned Land of Saeftinghe" and on the other side of the Scheldt is the nuclear power plant of Doel.
Then you cross the fortified town of Hulst with its monument of "Reynaert the Fox". The typically Dutch villages and hamlets with names like t'Jaegertje, Vogelfort, Oude Stoof, Fluitershoek... remind you that you are on Dutch soil even though you are just a few kilometers from the Belgian border.
