Beautiful junctions walking route through two unique nature reserves close to each other. Nearby is the river Tjonger. Before this river was canalized, the water flowed through these marsh areas.

You start the walking route from the parking lot on the Alberdalaan. This is located between the two nature reserves Dellebuursterheide and Diakonieveen. This route starts with the Diakonieveen circuit. In this area, peat used to be excavated by the church's poor relief. Hence the name 'Diakonievene'. This special nature reserve was created by the excavations.

The second nature reserve you walk through is the Dellebuursterheide. Heath sheep and Exmoor ponies graze the nature reserve. It Fryske Gea owns both nature reserves. They want to preserve the original open stream valley landscape as much as possible. There are many different animal species living in these areas, for example the crane, the common blue and 43 different species of dragonflies!! You can start this route at two different points. You can also start the walk from the parking lot at Grindweg at junction 38. This parking lot is somewhat smaller than the parking lot at Alberdalaan (junction 90).
