Outdoor Bakel forest walk

The starting point of the walking route is at Koffiehuis Buitenuit Neerstraat 2A in Bakel. There is a spacious parking lot available. The walking route takes you through the forest area north of Bakel. The area used to consist of drifting sand dunes that were later afforested. The entire route goes over sandy and forest paths. Soon after starting the walk, you will encounter a typical ancient hollow road on your left. The route continues through the forests over beautiful hills, the former sand drift areas. At various places, there are nice views over the fields. Halfway through the route lies the Zandseberg. A beautiful sand slope for children. Through the forest, historic church paths run. In the distant past, these paths led directly from the fields to the church in Bakel. The route goes back through the woods, including along the Theo van Dijk path back to the endpoint. At various points, the route can be shortened. At the endpoint, Koffiehuis Buitenuit is available for a snack and a drink. There is also a nice playground for the kids.
From the start/end point, you can set up nice scavenger hunts.
