The Alphense forests, or the Alphense and Chaamse forests, is a large forested area between the municipalities of Alphen and Chaam. It used to be an extensive heath and drifting sand area, but thanks to afforestation, coniferous trees now dominate. There is more than enough variety for a delightful 15 km walk starting in the recreation area ‘t Zand near Alphen.
