Cycling on the Sallandse Heuvelrug!

Those who cycle through this hilly area are occasionally forced to get off. But once you arrive at the top of yet another hill, you will enjoy beautiful views, of a landscape that was formed 200,000 years ago by glaciers from Scandinavia.

The Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park is unique. Here you will find one of the largest contiguous heathlands in Europe. You sometimes imagine yourself abroad, vast heathlands, forests, silence and an impressive relief. With snow, beautiful cross-country skiing routes are set out here. The undulating landscape seems made for it. The "mountains" on De Sallandse Heuvelrug reach a height of up to 76 m. The National Park is rich in birds and it is the most important habitat of the grouse in the Netherlands. At various viewpoints in the area you can enjoy the wide view in peace.
