The Marlland, the name says it all, is known for marl mining and the processing of marlstone. During the Kunst steproute 2, which is 30 kilometers long, you will come across a large number of houses built from marl. In addition, the tour takes you past galleries in the Mergelland. Ceramics and jewelry are important products in the various galleries and studios on this tour.
From Klimmen you make a nice round via Valkenburg, Meerssen, UIestraten and Schimmert. Don't forget to enjoy the delicious products that this region offers you every now and then. At 38 kilometres, the Kunst steproute 1 is slightly longer than route 2 and goes largely through Heerlen, past various galleries, theatres and museums. Wonderfully moving and soaking up the necessary culture along the way.
