Combination of bicycles and skûtsjesilen! Cycle the beautiful route from Heeg to Balk and take the Beurtveer back to Heeg at Balk. Or make the boat trip first and then cycle back. Bicycles can be taken in the hold for free. Reservations are required.

Itinerary

You start this route in Heeg. The location where the ferry comes ashore again is: Pharshoeke 101 8621 CW Heeg (end of the Passantenhaven Heegerwal). At the Sylhûs.

You cycle from Heeg towards Gaastmeer. At junction 34 you cycle straight ahead where you enter the village. Continue straight on via the bridge until you reach the bicycle ferry It Oerset. Please note: view the opening hours of the bicycle ferry here.

Turn right after the ferry. You cycle along with the road towards It Heidenskip. At junction 23, turn left.

You cycle on to junction 95.

There you cycle straight ahead and turn left at the street Feie van Inthiemastraat.

At the end of the road do not turn left with the bend anymore, but turn right onto De Bovenweg.

Via the Singel turn left towards junction 94. Then you are in the village of Koudum.

Continue straight on via the Dammenseweg to junction 11

Aqueduct over towards junction 10.

Continue straight until junction 9. There you turn left.

Continue straight until junction 80. There you turn right. You have now cycled the round around the lake De Fluezen.

You cycle straight on until junction 35. There you turn left.

You pass junction 34 and at junction 33 turn right.

Continue straight on to the village of Balk. At junction 29, turn left.

Until junction 68, there you cross the water via the Meerweg straight ahead until you reach the boarding location of the Beurtveer. Boarding location: Meerweg 1, t/o Machinefabriek Spaans Babcock – 8561 AV Balk (near the toilet block)

Here you take the Beurtveer back to Heeg.
