This 40-kilometre-long route in and around Vught brings back memories of drastic events during the Second World War. The darkest chapter is the establishment of Camp Vught, a concentration camp managed by the SS. This camp held tens of thousands of Dutch people, of whom more than 12,000 Jews were deported to the extermination camps in the east from Camp Vught. The stories, memorials, and museums along this route bring the somber period of war to life and highlight the importance of peace and freedom.

The Liberation Route Brabant tells the story of the liberation, but also shows what the Second World War meant for ordinary people in Brabant. Eight cycling routes, spread across North Brabant, lead you past Brabant Reminders stories, listening columns of the Liberation Route Europe, monuments and museums, which together make the impact of the war on North Brabant visible.
