North-East Twente from nature parking lot

Very nice gravel route in North-East Twente!

You cycle from just outside Oud-Ootmarsum towards Lattrop - Breklenkamp and then along the border between the Netherlands and Germany towards Noord Deurningen. After crossing the Almelo-Nordhorn canal, you continue along the border on a beautiful forest path by the heath. Via the always beautiful Lutterzand, you cycle via Beuningen back over the Singraven estate to Ootmarsum. Through the Springendal, you’re back at your endpoint.
It is a beautiful combination of asphalt roads, gravel paths, forest trails, and sandy paths. You ride through the forest, past rolling ash trees, meadows, and heathlands.
For a cup of coffee along the way, you can stop at rest point Erve Wezenberg (Denekamp), Centropa (on the border), the Lutte Hutte, or the Pavilion in the Lutterzand, the Sterrebos in Beuningen, or the Watermill at Singraven in Denekamp.

We started at the Parking lot Nature Area Springendal at Hooidijk. There is no catering here, but Hoeve Springendal (Brunninkhuisweg 3 in Hezingen) or restaurant Rouwers (Denekamperstraat 74 in Agelo) are nearby.
The pavilion in the Lutterzand is just past halfway for a well-deserved coffee break.
