Brabant consists of valleys and sandy ridges. Between the stream valley of the Reusel, located between Moergestel and Oisterwijk, and that of the Voorste Stroom located between Tilburg and Oisterwijk, lies a sandy ridge on which the largest pond in the area is located: the Galgenven. The horned grebe, little grebe, and numerous ducks find it a delightful place to linger.

The route starts at the parking lot between junctions 57 and 88, HoekHoeveseweg / Sparrendreef, Oisterwijk.
The Pierenberg, a sand dune, is a remnant of what was a real mountain a century ago. Due to erosion and excavation, the dune has been lowered. This is clearly visible from the exposed roots of the pine trees. Now it is an ideal place for young and old to recreate.
