This car-free route mainly runs through the Veluwezoom National Park, located on the southeastern edge of the Veluwe and one of the most beautiful nature areas in the Netherlands. This area is very popular among road cyclists, also because many elevation meters can be gained here. The goal of the route is to cover as much elevation gain as possible within the given distance. To achieve this, the outbound and return paths overlap here and there. Along the way, one encounters the following climbs, with the Posbank being the most famous:
Boerenallee, Posbank, Lange Juffer, Holleweg, Zijpenberg-zuid, Emmapiramide-oost, Dennenweg and Paasberg
