Description by the author

This gravel route consists of 50% gravel roads, departs from Langenboom in the northern Peel and is very varied: you cycle through small-scale cultural landscape (winding roads interspersed with farming hamlets and bushes), through many nature reserves (Langenboomse Bossen, Estersbroek, De Kuilen, Landgoed Ossenbroek), along many waters (briefly over the Maasdijk along the Maas, along the Raam, along the Defense and Peel Canal,  along the Kraaijenbergse Plassen) and past Tongelaar Castle. Along the Defence Canal/Peel Canal you cycle past about twenty casemates (remnants of the Second World War (Peel-Raam position)).

The gravel roads vary from wide to narrow and even singletrack-like in width, which are often still good to cycle after rainy periods. The Hogenkampseweg can be worse in the first 400 meters (seen from the east) after rainy periods if agricultural traffic has often driven on the road. In addition, there is a sign "Bad road surface" on three gravel roads: these gravel roads are particularly rich in potholes, this is especially true for the Heidestraat just west of Gassel.

The route is set up in such a way (counterclockwise) that three dangerous crossings are avoided. In the beginning you will also cycle through the two beautiful nature reserves Estersbroek and De Kuilen, the latter of which is certainly popular with hikers. This way, when you leave in the (early) morning, you can cross these two nature reserves in peace.
