This gravel route starts at the parking lot near Keelven in Someren and consists of 49% of unpaved roads. Since the route ends with a section of gravel roads over 9 km long on the Strabrechtse Heide, the proportion of unpaved roads in the preceding part of the route is 42%. Most of the unpaved roads are gravel roads, but there are 2 sections consisting of forest paths (near Mierlo and in the second part of the Molenheide forest area) and there is a sand path in the route (Rederijklaan, slightly east of Geldrop). Due to the various types of surfaces (fine gravel, coarse gravel (Landgoed Gulbergen), forest path, sand path, and gravel road), you will need wide gravel tires (36 mm is recommended).

The route first leads through the forest area of Lieropse Heide, with some short gravel paths. At the hamlet of Moorsel, you follow a 4 km long gravel bike path over the Strabrechtse Heide. Afterwards, you head towards Mierlo, where you take some gravel paths/forest paths before cycling through the village of Mierlo. After passing through the built-up area of Mierlo, you follow a gravel path along the Eindhoven Canal. Then you cross the canal and arrive in Brandevoort: after 2 short gravel paths, this means following bike paths along the main roads. The bike paths are wide, and after Brandevoort, there are some gravel paths around Stiphout, where you also pass through the built-up area of Stiphout. Afterwards, you ride along the Castle Croy and follow some gravel paths just south of Aarle-Rixtel.

You then cross the Molenheide forest area via 2 gravel paths and ride along the Wilhelminakanaal, where it is a gravel path on the northern shore. This continues with various gravel paths (sometimes gravel roads) around the village of Lieshout. You cross the Wilhelminakanaal again and then go back through the Molenheide forest area, now to the west, over some gravel paths and forest paths. Afterwards, you ride along the bike path next to the main road towards Gerwen and then follow some gravel paths east of Nuenen. You then head towards Landgoed Gulbergen, where you ascend over gravel paths with coarser gravel to the Roof of Brabant. The descent is also via a gravel path. The descent on the south side is less steep than the ascent on the west side, which is why this route runs counterclockwise. Note: You leave the Landgoed Gulbergen via a path that is closed off with a gate (which is probably only open on weekdays during regular working hours). Just before the gate, there is a small section of path to the right that goes slightly uphill, allowing you to bypass the gate.

After that, you ride along the Eindhoven Canal, and on the southern shore, this is a gravel path. You then bypass Geldrop via the Rederijklaan. Unfortunately, this is a sand path (1.2 km), but I have left it in the route to avoid Geldrop as much as possible. Ultimately, you will come to Geldrop (district Coevering), but the passage through this district is not very long. And then comes the conclusion: nearly 10 km of gravel bike paths along and over the Strabrechtse Heide.
After the ride, you can grab something to eat and drink at the Boscafé De Soete Inval.
