This walking route takes you via walking junctions to places in Brunssum that remember the Second World War. The municipality has a tumultuous wartime history, in which many residents committed themselves to helping hiding people and resistance fighters. Jewish children found shelter here with foster families, and people who wanted to escape the Arbeitseinsatz or persecution were also helped.

Along the way, you will discover locations where humanity and courage made a difference. The resistance takes on many faces here, and hidden stories from Brunssum's history come to life. A route that reflects on freedom and hope.
