Come out of your shell in Sint-Kruis (NL)

We start the walk in the small polder village Sint-Kruis, not far over the Belgian border, near Café Zeelandia. From here, we leave the village behind and walk southwards into the open landscape of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

Further along, we join a beautiful section of the GR5a, which follows the course of the Eekloosche Watergang. This picturesque waterway winds through the polder land and offers a lovely variation of wide views and leafy banks. (Note: you walk through pastures with livestock. Dogs are not allowed here).

On the way, we pass several typical Zeeuws creeks, remnants of earlier floods that are now part of the unique creek area. First, we pass the Valeiskreek, and further along we meet the Oude Biezenkreek. At the very end, the Groote Gat appears, just before we walk back into Sint-Kruis.

This walk offers a perfect mix of history, nature, and tranquility, with the endless polder landscape as a backdrop. A recommendation for those who want to discover the beauty of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen on foot!
