B2025 Veluwezoom and IJsselbanks

Very varied and sturdy cycling route through national park Veluwezoom (part I) and along the banks of the IJssel (part II). The route starts and ends at junction 83 near the traffic lights in De Steeg. Parking is free (between sunrise and sunset) in the parking lot at Castle Middachten. The gardens of the castle are open to visitors for a fee for most of the year. The castle itself is only open in July and August (also for a fee).

Part I: Along the way, there are several 'detours' included: To Castle Rosendael (gardens and castle can be visited for a fee), to nature observation point de Elsberg, and to the Carolinahoeve (halfway, convenient for a lunch stop). Furthermore, you will pass Pavilion de Posbank, Visitor Center Veluwezoom, viewpoint Heuvense mountains (and several other viewpoints), and the Beekhuizense pond (with waterfall).

Part II: From the edge of Dieren, you enter the IJssel valley and cross the river with a ferry. The route then leads through the floodplains to the town of Doesburg (various sights) and further through the floodplains on the other side of the river back to the starting point.

Along the way, there is plenty of hospitality. The route is very touristy, therefore it is highly recommended to avoid weekends and summer vacations.
