Veluviatocht plus

This route is based on the long version of the Veluviatocht, a tour that is organized every year around March 20 by the Touring Club Wageningen (TCW'79). In this Veluviatocht-plus, I have made some changes that make the route more attractive. The plus ride does not pass by the TCW clubhouse (not necessary), goes straight through the beautiful Loenermark and over some cycling paths in the Veluwezoom National Park (not allowed in an organized tour) and offers two additional climbs that are not included in the organized tour.

All in all, this is really a route for nature lovers. The route does not leave the Veluwe, visits some of the most beautiful parts of this nature reserve (de Mossel, Loenermark, Veluwezoom) and avoids built-up areas. Almost 40% of the tour goes over car-free roads or cycling paths alongside them. The biggest blemish is the 8-kilometer stretch along the cycling path next to the road from Otterlo to Hoenderloo. The 122-kilometer route encompasses just over 1000 meters of altitude. Along the way, you will encounter the following climbs:

Miggelenbergweg, Woeste Hoeve, Holleweg (Veluwezoom), Zijpenberg-south, Emmapiramide-east, Bredelaan, Westerbouwing-east, Italiaanseweg, Boersberg and Wageningsche_berg-south.
