Discover all benefitsFollow the Geuldal route (Via Gulia) and discover the Geul from its source in Belgium to its mouth in the Maas. This 72-kilometer long walking route takes you along the fastest flowing river in the Netherlands, through a varied landscape of bubbling brooks, flower-filled grasslands, forests, and rolling hills. Along the way, you walk through the characteristic Geuldal, where nature and culture have gone hand in hand for centuries. Historical watermills, unique plants such as the zinc violet, and charming villages tell the story of this cross-border region. Listen to the soothing sound of the water, enjoy the beautiful panoramas, and experience how each bend of the Geul reveals a new piece of beauty. The Via Gulia is a walking experience in 4 stages to enjoy in peace. The approach route begins in Vaals via the Border Route 1, but soon you will follow the blue and white signs.
