This route goes from the town hall and through the city center of Nijkerk first to the outskirts of Nijkerkerveen. This village does not appear in the top 10 of most beautiful Gelderland villages and hamlets, but there are a few very beautiful farms to see in this area.
Then the Hoevelaken estate is crossed from north to south with a view over the beautiful pond to the eponymous House Hoevelaken.
For many motorists, the Hoevelaken junction is a daily barrier, but also for the walker to Amersfoort, the A1 with parallel railway line is an obstacle. But after fifteen minutes of brisk walking, 'Bloeidaal', a new natural gem along the Barneveldsebeek, opens up as a reward.
At the place where the Valleikanaal enters the city of Amersfoort, we do the same. Then it is only a short time to the city wall after which we enter the city center. And where better to end this tour than at the center of the Dutch map projection of the Rijksdriehoekmeting: 'De Lange Jan', or The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren of Amersfoort.
