Autoroute - South Limburg - Auto Mergellandroute

Welcome to beautiful South Limburg. The Auto Mergellandroute is one of the most famous Autoroutes in the Netherlands. And for good reason, of course. The route leads straight through the 5-star landscape of South Limburg. You will pass the Drielandenpunt in Vaals, see the unique chalkwalls and go through several real South Limburg villages such as Epen, Slenaken and Eijsden. Maastricht is of course also visited. You will be amazed by the beautiful nature, the attractions, the beautiful views and of course the many terraces to take a break.

The official start is at Maastricht station, but the route is best picked up in Sint Geertruid or Wittem. Hooking up somewhere else is of course no problem either.

The route is signposted (note: only in 1 direction) with special hexagonal brown Mergelland route signs. Where possible, it will avoid the busiest roads. The route is a very popular and often driven route through the Limburg hills. In addition, a special map is also available at Visit Zuid-Limburg with the route and various highlights in the area.
