This route connects the two village churches of De Bilt and Lage Vuursche. The route goes through the transition area between the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the peat and lake area north of the city of Utrecht.
New Dutch Water Line becomes visible at fort Voordorp, just outside De Bilt. Also take a look at the activities around De Hooge Kampse Plas where a new nature reserve is being set up on behalf of the Utrechts Landschap.
The strip subdivision from the Middle Ages is clearly visible north of Groenekan. The route therefore also has those 'long hauls'.
Landgoed Eyckenstein is reached via the Beukenburg Estate with its coppice plots and beautiful beech avenues. Via a beautiful view lane you come to the House Eyckenstein.
Take a break at the Mauritshoeve, a well-known stopping place for hikers for years.
You can also choose to continue through the woods and settle down on one of the terraces of the picturesque village of De Lage Vuursche. In winter it is good to eat pancakes there.
At the Stulpkerk of the village you come to the end point of this route.
