The Giro d'Italia 2016 started with a time trial in Apeldoorn and raced on the 2nd stage from Arnhem to Nijmegen and back the next day. On the Van Randwijckweg in Berg en Dal, the first 3-2-1 points for the blue mountain jersey (GPM) could be collected. In addition to this 4th category climb and the intermediate sprint (TV) on the Zevenheuvelenweg, the other hills of the Nijmeegse Stuwwal are also part of a cycling route of 75 kilometers.
