Stabrechtse Heide, Beuven and Keelven

Circular walk through the Strabrechtse Heide. A very expansive nature reserve (1500 hectares) with endlessly large heather fields, ponds, and forests.
Start at the parking lot by the Hoijse Hoeve. The path directly leads over narrow hiking trails through the forests towards the heath area. A beautiful and endless view over the heath. The route continues along forest paths towards the Keelven. In this heath area, there are several ponds. A wide view over it completes the experience. The hike returns to the Strabrechtse Heide along a paved cycling/hiking path by the ponds and through the forests. It goes through the very vast and extensive heath area. We pass the Hoenderboom. A boundary stone of formerly 5 municipalities. Further through the heath towards the Beuven. At this rather large pond, there is a bird watching hut. Here you have a beautiful view over the Beuven and the birds residing there.
Continue over a semi-paved cycling/hiking path back into the forests and to the endpoint of the hike.
