Marikenpad stage 1b: fast cycle route Nijmegen - Grave

Part of the Marikenpad, the historic walking and cycling route from Nijmegen to Antwerp.
This fast-bike variant of the first stage Nijmegen-Grave follows for the most part the Graafseweg. From the bridge over the Maas-Waal canal, it runs close to the remaining fragments of the Teersdijk. This former toll road formed the main connection with Grave until the construction of the Maas-Waal canal and the Graafseweg in 1927. Unfortunately, these fragments no longer connect to the main route.
There is also a tourist walking and cycling variant (1a) of this first stage of the Marikenpad. It goes via Hatert and the St. Walrick Chapel.
WARNING: IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE START, TURN FROM THE GROTE MARKT INTO BROERSTRAAT. THAT'S PEDESTRIAN ZONE. IN NIJMEGEN, THAT MEANS GETTING OFF. IN THE MOLENSTRAAT YOU CAN CYCLE AGAIN.
