Little Heart of Brabant, Moergestel

This is a circular walk based on the large Hart van Brabantpad, which is more than 230 km long.

Then walk this loop around Moergestel. It is a beautiful and brisk day walk through a varied area.
Past the Reusel and the standerdmolen you leave the old shoemaker's village to continue your way to the Zelt. Centuries ago that was already a hamlet where the "Vrijhoeve" also stood.
After the open country you will soon see the forests of the Kerkhovensche hei. You will see a remnant of that heathland later on your trip, but first we walk on narrow forest paths in the direction of the Vidar rowing course in the Wilhelmina Canal and then via the scouting camping site on our way to the busy A-58!
Don't be alarmed, we only hear the noise of that traffic artery for a moment, because via stairs we can climb the embankment and then stroll to the Galgeven.
There we see an elevation on which the Tilburg textile manufacturer van den Bergh had a full mill built more than 200 years ago.
The last part of this route leads along another part of the Reusel back to the starting point.
 

!! Make sure you have a hearty sandwich in your knapsack because otherwise you can only satisfy your hungry stomach in one of the catering establishments when you have returned to Moergestel on Sint Jansplein.
