Come and enjoy Het Smalste Stukje Nederland, where the Netherlands is only 4.8 km wide. The flat green landscape makes Het Smalste Stukje Nederland a wonderful place for walking and cycling. Experience and celebrate burgundian life in the picturesque villages and enjoy delicious culinary dishes. Visit special buildings, experience religious heritage and come to your senses. The Drielandenwandeling starts at KP47 (starting point at Susteren railway station or the basilica, Salvatorplein 10 in Susteren).

This walk takes you through the westernmost point of Germany (Westzipfelpunkt), past a centuries-old basilica and a sculpture garden. Along the way you will arrive at the Belgian border at the new River Park Maasvallei. The entire route is more than 25 kilometers long. Along the way you will pass a number of special places. In addition to the Westzipfelpunkt, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the new River Park Maasvallei on the Belgian border at Illikhoven and learn about the history of this border area. History shows that this area was hunting ground of the Duke of Jülich in the 13th century. Also of historical importance is the Flood Count, because this was the battleground at the end of the Second World War. The Amelberga Basilica in Susteren is unique because of its treasury full of beautiful relics and ancient treasures. For art lovers, the sculpture garden behind the basilica is also worth a visit!
