Havelterberg

The start is at the parking lot by the Hunebedden on the road (N353) from Wapserveen to Havelte. The distance is over 9 km. Walk along the Hunebedden and take the footpath next to the road marked with a blue hiking sign. At the junction to the Naturfreundshaus, turn left. The path with the blue sign leads over the heath and through a small grove. At the first fork, go right and continue more or less straight through two intersections until you reach a hexagon. Here, turn left and leave the blue route. The wide path bends to the right and meets a fork. Turn left here and immediately turn right at the intersection. Go straight at the intersection until the paved bike path. Here, turn right over or along the bike path. After the campsite 't Holtingerzand, turn right. Pass the old sheep barn and when the bike path makes a right-angle turn to the right, go straight ahead. At the fork, keep left. You will pass a small sandy area and go straight ahead. Cross an intersection with a narrow path. You will pass two swing gates. Turn right onto the paved bike path. Continue to the parking lot and turn right towards the Hunebed. Follow the path with the blue hiking sign to the Hunebedden. Here, turn left and return to the starting point.
