The route starts in the south of the Drents-Friese Wold at the Tourist Info Point on Bosweg in Diever.
The route takes you through the beautiful forests of Staatsbosbeheer, Het Diever Zand, and Berkenheuvel. These forests have a relatively natural character.
In the forest, there is a large, open heathland area with a bog: De Hoekenbrink. Along the way, the route passes the bogs De Gouden Ploeg and Het Snoekveen.
