The route from Exloo is located on the Drentser Hondsrug in the Exloo forestry office. The forestry office consists of production forest and storm forest. This forest is called so because the fallen trees are still partially anchored in the ground with their roots and from them the branches grow back into new trees. Along both routes, there are many burial mounds. These mounds are protected archaeological monuments. B
