You walk from Winsum station through the vast landscape. Slowly, the outlines of the city of Groningen come closer. You pass over the Zernike Complex into the old city center and end at the beautiful Groningen Central Station. The route is part of a larger network in North Netherlands. The walking paths through Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, and Overijssel are interconnected and together form an impressive green route of 470 km. Along the way, you cross six national parks, two national landscapes, and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
