The circular path "Rondje Oude Riet" leads through the dike village of Niezijl, whose first settlement dates back to the early 1500s. After 1600, the current house plan was developed, which has changed little. After a walk over the Bomsterschans and through De Wieken, the circular path runs along the Niezijlsterdiep, passes the mouth of the Hoerediep and the Oude Riet, and then follows the Oude Riet back through the former Wadden area into the village. The walk takes half an hour.
