This Benjamin among the Groene Wissel hikes takes you around the village of Biessum and along country paths in and through the forests to the west. Biessum lies around a terpen, one of the best-preserved in the province of Groningen. The original star-shaped division is still almost completely recognizable. The houses and farms are located on Ochsenstraße (the Ossenweg), which is still intact. The village has no church of its own, nor has it ever had one; for church attendance, the residents of Biessum had to walk along the church path to the nearby church of Uitwierde. In short; a lovely short walk that you can perfectly combine with a visit to the city center of Delfzijl and the sea ports.
