This route brings you into contact with a rich cultural history. From Scheemda, you walk through the agricultural landscapes to Midwolda. Along the way, you pass many magnificent mansions; small castles almost. After that, you continue your route through the quiet forests of the Ennemaborgh estate to Heiligerlee. You pass by the Battle Museum at Heiligerlee, where you can experience the battle on May 23, 1568, between the State Army and the Spanish Army. The return journey to Scheemda leads over two beautifully wooded hills through the farmland.
