Near Ezinge, you will find the Allersmaborg hidden in a bend of the Reitdiep and concealed among groups of trees. A country house from the 15th century that has been expanded and beautified over the centuries. From here, you can walk towards Ezinge and Feerwerd through an ancient cultural landscape; the former peninsula of Middag. Until the 12th century, this was part of a tidal landscape. The mounds of Ezinge and Feerwerd therefore date back to this time. Also worth a stop is the village of Aduarderzijl, with its beautifully restored locks from the 18th and 19th centuries.
