This route takes you from the center of Groningen to Aduard, on the Groningen clay. You start at the Grote Markt and along the way, you will pass by, among other things, the Rijksuniversiteit and the medieval warehouses at the Noorderhaven. The path along the Reitdiep follows the old towing path. This path was once used to pull ships with horse and human power. Over the new development area Gravenburg, you continue to Leegkerk, with its Salkirche from the 13th century. Your journey ends at the village of Aduard, named after the Aduarderdiep dug by Cistercian monks.
