Follow junctions: 17 – 76 – 12 – 16 – 13 – 14 – 15 – 25 – 24 – 23 – 11 – 17

Appointment at junction 17 (V) of the Brabantse Delta-Oost hiking network. You will find it at the intersection of the Plantagebaan with the Zoomweg in Wouwse Plantage, next to the statue of the Woodcutter ( )1 . This immediately upon entering the small, cozy resort.

You leave for junction 76 and walk past a school. A little further on, a pole makes the road car-free. Next to the path runs the Zoom. This is in fact a bike path, so watch out. You step past a playground and continue walking between the fields to the first quadrangle, with junction 76. Choose left, direction 12, and cross the Zoom via a bridge. Immediately turn right and ignore the Wetstraat and Camping Zoomland (2) and follow the cul-de-sac Bleekloop. At the fork, step straight ahead. Nodes of the walking network are indicated in hexagons on poles. There the options are in triangles. There is no intermediate sign with numbers, but there are yellow triangles in green squares and yellow-green stripes.

You walk past Golfclub Wouwse Plantage (3) and along the edge of the forest to junction 12. Here you choose left, direction 16. The nature reserve is not freely accessible, but with the walking network it is allowed. Step into the forest next to the barrier and walk straight ahead at the first intersection with a bird breeding area on the right.

Also on the next quadrangle you step straight ahead and you come further into a monumental beech drive. Walk all the way out, step past the barrier and cross the Plantagebaan. On the other side you walk into the Wildersedreef. When the forest ends, you are between two football fields at junction 16. Turn right, direction 13, and walk back into the forest next to the football field. On the T turn left and then right along the edge of the forest until a crossroads with an impressive beech drive.

You are at junction 13, cross the drive and continue walking on a narrow forest path, towards 14. At a fork, keep right. Yellow-green stripes show the way. Without noticing, you make a semicircle through the forest and you arrive at a round picnic table. Step over a bridge and you enter a beautiful lane. On the right it goes to the Plantagebaan. You follow the drive to the left. At the end of the drive, turn right and follow the edge of the forest. After a barrier you step over a field road, past a farm and you come to junction 14. Choose direction 15 and after about 10 m turn right immediately into the forest. It now continues on a narrow forest path. The path widens a bit and at a T-junction you turn left. The path is not always clear, because it lies under a real carpet of leaves.

Therefore, keep an eye on the yellow-green markings on the trees and the forest edge on the left and follow the green and white posts along the road. You cross a robust bridge and continue walking to an asphalt road, the Kriekendreef. Turn left until you reach the T-junction with junction 15. Follow the Schouwenbaan to the left, direction 25. At the fork, turn the Schouwenbaan to the left. You follow the Vleetweg to the right and then take the first road on the left, the Ouwerveldenweg. You now step on a narrow asphalt road, which is lined with oaks on the right, through an open agricultural landscape with a 360° panorama.

At the intersection with the Hoekse Baan, continue straight on at junction 25 towards 24. At the crossroads with a cycle path you come to junction 24. Here turn left and follow the Zoom on the cycle path, to point 23, 500 m further. Keep following the Zoom straight ahead, towards junction 1 After a while, the Zoom is very deep next to the cycle path and you come to an intersection with a narrow asphalt road, immediately junction 1 The arrow towards 17 points straight ahead, but that is not correct. You first have to cross the Zoom and then continue on the other bank. You walk along Chaletpark Wouwse Plantage (4) and a picnic area to junction 17.
