This route takes you past many nature reserves in the Peel, the raised bog area that once stretched between Weert and Grave. You cycle towards Neerkant along the Astensche Peel and through the Neerkantse Woods to Meijel.

At Meijel, you cross the canal from Deurne (150 meters of unpaved, well-bikeable road) and then along the nature reserve Scherliet. Through the peat village of Helenaveen, you cycle along the Mariapeel to Evertsoord and to the hamlet of Zwarte Plak.

You cycle a bit along the middle peel road (1 kilometer) before diverting to the peat village of Griendtsveen and the Griendtsveen canal. The next nature reserve is the Paardekop heading towards Ysselsteyn.
After skirting Ysselsteyn, you cycle along the Heidsche Peel.

Then, you find yourself back in Griendtsveen and follow the beautiful Helenavaart, a truly wonderful piece of Peel. The road has been completely renovated since June 2018, resulting in smooth asphalt. Via Helenaveen, you cycle towards Neerkant along the nature reserve Het Zinkske and the Grauwveen. Through the Heitrak, you return to Heusden.
