Leg 5: Zundert - Galder

Don't forget to visit the Van Gogh House before you leave. Vincent's young life is beautifully portrayed. Barely leaving Zundert, you will get acquainted with the dahlia fields and the culture around the flower parade of Zundert e.o. In the summer the fields are in full bloom. Along the river Aa and between the many tree nurseries you reach the hamlet of Oekel. A beautiful dirt road takes you to an inevitable barrier: the crossing of the HSL and the A16. Fortunately, there is not much traffic on this bridge. Along the Galderse Lakes and through the valley of the Galderse Beek you finally come to the Saint James Chapel, a popular resting point for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Unfortunately, the chapel is often closed, but fortunately there is a resting point next to the chapel for the walker of the Gilbert van Schoonbekepad: A café with a (for the motorist) familiar sounding name: Knooppunt Galder.

Fastest connection by public transport between start and end point: Galder, bus stop Smidshof with bus 6 (dir. Breda), get off at Breda Centrum (bus 6 does not run on Sat-Sun) Change here to bus 115 to Zundert, get off at Veldstraat stop. On foot to The Market of Zundert.
