The route goes clockwise and starts at the parking lot along the Oude IJssel in Ulft. The route takes you through the Achterhoek. You pass Slangenburg Castle (the route also goes here (dead end part of the road)), you cycle on the Varsselering street circuit (with Ascension day there are 2 days of races here, the road is then not accessible), you cycle along the river Veengoot (with a narrow asphalted cycle path along a dirt road over 1 km length). In addition, you cycle through the typical scenery of especially the eastern Achterhoek.

Between Vragender and Aalten, the route goes over the steep edge that has been carved along the western edge of the Eastern Dutch plateau. The surroundings here are slightly sloping with height differences of up to 15 meters. Since the route avoids as many village centers as possible, you will not encounter much traffic along the way and not much catering. Catering establishments directly on the route are located in Silvolde, Veldhoek and Vragender.
