Hoge Veluwe Day 5

Day 5: Apeldoorn, Hoge Veluwe, Jagdhaus Sint-Hubertus, Kröller Müller, Airborne Museum (Arnhem), Nijmegen. The route is surprisingly challenging. You will notice that, especially near Oosterbeek.

We leave Apeldoorn to the south and initially follow the cycling route points to the entrance of the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Hoenderloo. If you want to have a picnic later, you need to gather supplies here first, e.g. at Spar.
We purchased the tickets for the park in advance. First, we drive to the Kröller Müller Museum. It goes without saying that this is a cultural must-see. After the visit, we picnic along the route and visit the Jagdhaus Sint Hubertus, for which we have booked a guided tour. It is quite a detour (round trip), as these tours only start late in the day.
Afterwards, we continue south through forests, heathland, and dune areas. Constantly on beautiful cycling paths. With a bit of luck, we might see deer or wild boars. As we exit the park, we pass the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, which gives us an insight into the Operation Market Garden at the end of World War II. The final - rather boring - section takes us into the center of Nijmegen. We reach this via the new bicycle bridge over the Waal.
We will be staying at the Guesthouse Vertoef, which is within walking distance from the center.
