Hondsdonk is the name of an estate that is located south of Ulvenhout, and forms the connection between the Strijbeekse Heide and the estates

The estate is already mentioned in an act of 1364, in which there was mention of a farm owned by one Claeus van Oekel. In 1625 the farm burned down and in 1657 there was mention in a transfer act of a new house, in a slightly modified place, as well as barn, cages, a court and orchard, lands, meadows, peat fields, forests and the yards around themPhilibert van Borssele then transferred the property to Cornelis van Blyenburg. In 1702 the farm was expanded.

In 1777 the house was sold to Lucas van der Borch, who was then adjutant-general of Stadholder Willem V. In 1795 he had the mansion built in empire style, which is the current mansion. Around 1840 a bell tower was placed on the house, from the nearby house Luchtenburg. A wooden dovecote and two ornamental vases with mythological figures can be found at the front of the house. The garden is laid out in English landscape style and dates from around 1842. In this garden there is a meandering pond called Kruisvijver. The garden was commissioned by the then resident, Henriëtte van der Borch-van der Heim. She also designed the cottage-like farmhouse on the estate.

In 1851, Willem van der Borch founded the militia "Alliance d'Amitié", and around this time the writer Elise van Calcar also lived and worked here. Her best-known novel Hermine was written here. In 1919 the estate passed to the Prisse family, who still own it.
