In this walking route you will get acquainted with how green the Green Heart can still be. You often walk on unpaved hiking trails and in the middle of polder nature. During the walk it is almost impossible not to encounter meadow birds, hares, swans or other animals. If you look around you carefully, you will find other plants that bloom in the ditch sides and on the wood quays at every time of the year.
The route is 21 km long, but afterwards you can have a final drink in the Historic City Center of Woerden a short distance from the railway station.

During the breeding season of the meadow birds, 2 parts of this route are closed for the period from 1 March to 1 July. This allows for a small adjustment in the route with 3km extra and unfortunately more paved but quiet paths. An alternative route can be found at: click on the link
