Noël weekend walk 14,3 km

For lovers of the Veluwe a real forest walk, but also with the variety of heathlands, farmland and the beautiful Boeschoten estate. Garderen is an agricultural enclave surrounded by forests and a tourist village with many bungalow parks in the forest edges. There are countless catering establishments in the center. Only at the end of the walk do we pass restaurants, so we first go to lavish. We walk on a narrow footpath through farmland to the Speulderbos. Soon we walk along De Duinen, a strikingly hilly ridge with jagged oak trees. After that, the route goes for several kilometers on wide forest roads, which used to be part of a network of trade roads in the Veluwe. The centuries-old Speulderbos is one of the most beautiful and oldest forests in the Netherlands. Crooked oak and beech trees grown in wondrous curves determine the atmosphere. After crossing the N797 we arrive in the agricultural hamlet of Koudhoorn. The fields here are protected by all possible means against the gluttony of the wild pigs. We continue our route along the forest edges of the beautiful Boeschoten estate. Over the Lage Boeschoterweg with its many forest villas and via the nature reserve Wilde Kamp we walk back in the direction of Garderen.
