Tour Loevestein Castle - Ammersoyen Castle

Loevestein Castle and Ammersoyen Castle are the highlights of this cycling tour. They are part of the rural castle line. In the museum of Loevestein Castle there is a lot to experience about the Middle Ages and the New Dutch Water Line. Ammersoyen Castle offers one of the best preserved medieval moated castles in the country. The start and end point of this cycle route is the parking lot at Loevestein Castle.

The route leads through Rivierenland, a cycling region par excellence, where you drive over ancient dikes and past charming villages with a wide view. Along the way you will pass the Brakel estate where the ruins of Brakel Castle can be found. At Loevestein Castle you can enjoy coffee or lunch in the Tavern. If you have the time, you can also take the ferry from Loevestein to the fortress of Woudrichem, for example to eat and drink or to walk around.
