Zwartenbergse Polder, This route was recorded on June 21, 2020.
Before the Sint-Elisabeth flood occurred, the Mark made a sharp turn to the south and then to the northwest. In this area, peat was extracted and there was influence from the Abbey of Thorn, which held tithe rights here. During this flood, the Mark cut off this curve. The area within this former curve and today's Mark, now enclosed by Mark, Halse Vliet, and Leurse Haven, was diked by Engelbrecht van Etten around 1507. This is how the Zwartenbergse Polder was created.
In the polder, there are 5 wind turbines, each with 2 megawatts, which were commissioned in February 2013.
